A by-product of the Global Think Tank Landsapes event, where Dr. James McGann addressed a group of Geneva based think tanks and international organizations and commented on Geneva’s potential as a global think tank hub, McGann’s assessment was that this is a unique moment in world politics where global governance may become a reality through a partnership of research and policy centers, intergovernmental organizations and multinational corporations that have come together to address the range of transnational threats and issues the world faces today. Geneva is uniquely positioned to help realize global governance, given that it is a world-class city and is an IGO center and policy hub. It’s these events that lead to the Global Think Tank Summit, which served to highlight Geneva as a world class city and a global governance and policy hub, bringing together 50 leading think tanks from around the world to Geneva.
